Give your child an education that includes hands-on learning and developing real-world skills

Mission Statement
It is the belief of Rocky View Montessori that each child should have the opportunity to attend a safe space where they are free to learn, create, and have fun!
“It is not enough for the teacher to love the child. She must understand the universe. She must prepare herself, and truly work at it.”
About Me
As a mother of multiple children, I was always looking into childhood development and how I could best serve my children. I valued independence and to this day have a deep love of learning and a healthy dose of curiosity. When I found Montessori the principals aligned with my values and the way I sought to raise my children.

More about me
I am an active gardener and permaculture enthusiast. I spend the majority of my free time engaging in nature with my children. I love hiking and the great outdoors. Recently I completed the West Coast trail and I am always looking into new outdoor pursuits.
The world has been my playground. At the age of twelve I took my first overseas trip to Ireland paying my own way with a paper route. When I graduated university I took the time and travelled in Asia for a year, came home and worked in the Yukon to raise money for my next trip in Australia. Here I spent a year, planting trees ,exploring and getting my diving license on the great barrier reef. I lived for 3 years in Israel and returned home to Canada and established a career in Insurance.
What does this have to do with Montessori? The love of learning, exploring for fun and curiosity. Seeing how we are all interconnected in this world and to experience all life has to offer. This is what a Montessori guide does for your child. We guide them only in their own quest for self developement and the freedom to choose based on their own interests. This is what I hope to inspire in my children and the children who will be gifted to share their time and journey with me. A short but impactful journey.

What can you expect for your child?
At Rocky View Montessori each child will be treated as an individual, and the goals and learning will be focused on their personal needs. I have a background in working with children from a strength based perspective which draws the focus to the child’s personal interests, learning style, and developmental needs; this style allows the child to flourish and grow socially, emotionally, and academically.
I look forward to taking the next steps with you and your child!
Thank you for choosing Rocky View Montessori.
